Oculus Experience

Recently I got a last minute job from a client. The offer was challenging so I gladly accepted it. Let me give you a short brief on the project, so you may see obstacles I faced with: it supposed to be a game for players to ride a scooter in the city area; a player rides scooter along the city street and collect brand’s logos; some facades of buildings are made of special materials produced by customer company. In addition, one last tip – company producing facility as a finish point.

Project was urgent so the client provided me with a very limited time just “four days :)” to model the entire area. Another challenge was the requirement to import a whole city model to Unity. Scary part I had never used Unity before that project. Thanks to Unity guys, they helped me with all the information (from maximum polygon count to texture coordinates and correct export settings).
Hardware and system restrictions did not let me use high poly models. However, I tried my best with system requirements I was provided. As a result, just in four days of hard work, I had a game, which you may see in the video.
Obviously, it is a low poly game and definitely not one of my best works. Nonetheless, it empowers me seeing how people play and enjoy results of my work. Happy gamers’ faces inspire me to work even harder to bring more joy and fun in media.
In this light, game offers a chance to create a unique reality, connecting you and audience through it. When you see players are enjoying results of your work, it makes you feel connected to them on a more personal level. It simply encourages you to try harder and upgrade your skills for future projects.
I wish I had more time to create detailed game level.
